Holy Week

at

First Presbyterian Church

Plainview, TX 79072

Palm Sunday, March 24th at 10:30 am

Celebrate Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem with us. We will gather in the Fellowship Court and be led into the sanctuary by the children and youth waving palm branches.

Maundy Thursday Seder, March 28th at 7:00 pm

The Seder is a ritual banquet which reenacts the Exodus. Its major feature is the reading of the Haggadah, which relates, in detail, the events of the Exodus of the Jewish people from ancient Egypt, complete with symbolic reenactments using Kosher wine, specially prepared Matzah, and bitter herbs. This celebration will be a potluck meal attempting to be as kosher as possible. A choice of wine or grape juice will be served at the Seder meal.

Good Friday Tenebrae Service, March 29th at 7:00 pm

Come explore the deeper meaning of ‘God’s Friday’. We will remember together the events of Jesus’ last night with his disciples, as he taught them a new commandment to love each other as he loved them and then demonstrated the depths to which that love might extend. The service will be a moving experience of light and darkness, drama and reflection, scripture, music, and prayer. In this time together, we will gain a new understanding of what Easter really means for us all.

Easter Sunday, March 31st at 7:00 & 10:30 am

Sunrise Service at 7:00 am on the lawn on the north side of the church to joyously welcome the Risen Savior. If you would like to stay for breakfast, please bring a breakfast item to share. At 10:00 am we will have an Easter egg hunt for the little ones. At     10:30 am we will join Christians all over the world in celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord in our beautiful sanctuary.

Elements of Communion will include gluten-free bread at all services. No Communion on Palm Sunday.

He Is Risen!
