Ash Wednesday

We invite you to usher in the Lenten season with us during our Ash Wednesday Service on February 22,  at 6:00 PM.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a season of reflection and preparation for the events of Holy Week. It is also a time set aside for those who have felt estranged from the church to consider reconciliation and ‘re-membering’ their relationships with God and with each other. We will be anointed with fragrant oil and ashes burned from last year’s joyful palm branches, reminding us of our celebration of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem as a victorious King, and how quickly our memory fades when it come to living our lives under his Lordship. It is a somber ceremony, but not without hope. Even in penitence, God is with us, calling us to greater discipleship while giving us the strength we need for that journey.

Peace be with you,

David
